beginning

7syntax was founded in 2007, at Caldas da Rainha in Portugal. Back then we were doing Open Source services and using them to bootstrap our own ideas. Of the many that popped up, one kept coming back to our attention and, being mobilists, we felt that we could make a difference in that space. So we set aside consulting services, set up shop in Lisbon and focused solely on bringing Handivi to life.

Our team is highly energetic, creative and ambitious, always trying new ways of doing things differently from an interesting perspective. Our experience goes from management, marketing and all the way to development and operations.

As we're still a young company, we get to create a special environment where everyone comes in fresh in the morning, totally relaxed and wanting to deliver the best service ever. When things get hectic, we gather around for a cup of assorted varieties of Adagio teas or just plain coffee. Great ideas have been brainstormed while the kettle was on.

Celso Pinto

Product Development & Finance

Celso loves startups, motorcycles, simple solutions and simple software. He comes from a software development background, most of it in mobile and web companies. At 7syntax he's the one making sure ends meet and when he's not with his nose stuck in plans and strategies he loves to put his headphones on and hack away at the keyboard.

Vitor Domingos

Marketing & Operations

Vitor has one daughter, he's our family guy. He has a long background in systems architecture, administration and security. Vitor is a Civil Engineer by degree, loves architecture and spent too much time around computers when he was young. At 7syntax he's the one who makes sure all systems are running smoothly and that company communication flows properly to the outside.

Rúben Fonseca

Lead mobile developer

Rúben is our "young private". He holds a Computer Science and Systems Engineering degree and loves Open Source software and communities. He started his professional career as an open source consultant but soon after accepted the much more challenging task of being our mobile guy.

Nuno Loureiro

Lead UX & Design

Nuno loves indie and alternative music. At 7syntax he's the creative ninja artist and main questioner, his responsibility is to ensure that every thing looks dazzling, works and feels like nothing else, in a fraction of time and without anyone noticing.
